The session of Sindh Assembly has been started with at least 1 hour and thirty minute delay.

KARACHI: The PA’s session started under the chair of acting speaker Shehla Raza.

Provincial Minister for Local Government Siraj Durani said that President Asif Ali Zardari had directed the party workers to speed-up door to door election campaign, adding that selection of opposition leader in the assembly would be made according to the law.

On Thursday, the ruling coalition passed a "controversial" Sindh Civil Servants (amendment) bill 2013 into law at the Sindh Assembly session despite opposition. The Opposition rejected the bill and called it a "promotion" of cronies under the new law, while the treasury termed it a move to encourage police officials who protect the citizens.

The bill however found unanimous vote to become law with the opposition s protest walkout from the house amid shouts from the opposition of "shame shame". The house underwent a heated debate and rumpus, as lawmakers from either side exchanged hard allegations.
