Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry said that the country is going through a tough period of time, we shall give sacrifices; where as ex-president of Supreme Court Bar Association Aitezaz Ahsan said that only democracy can fulfil the federal demands. Governance of law runs side by side with the government. Addressing the ceremony of Lahore Bar held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Chief Justice said that country is engulfed with the wave of terrorism and lawyers have given many sacrifices. He said that independent judiciary safeguards the rights of public and all the decisions taken in the courts will be according to law. On this occasion Aitezaz Ahsan said that parliament is continuously accountable by the judiciary. Independent judiciary will prove its worth in about 3 to 4 years. Aitezaz Ahsan also announced the restoration of membership for Lahore Bar Association.
