Clinton assures fulfillment of all pledges

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held a meeting with Speaker National Assembly, Chairman Senate and Leaders of Parliamentary Parties in Parliament House Islamabad on Friday evening. Clinton said she was taking an improved and good image of Pakistan back home. Briefing the media after the meeting, Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fahmida Mirza told that issues like Drone Strikes, Kerry-Lugar Bill, Pak-Indian relations, Kashmir Issue, cooperation in energy, trade, industry and other sectors and other highly important issues came under discussion in detail. She said when drone strikes came under discussion, some parliamentarians supported it and some opposed it. Clinton in her remarks said during all her meetings in Pakistan, she witnessed mixed opinion on the issue and they were divided. However, she vowed to discuss it in US parliament.Talking about KLB, Ms. Clinton said she had noted reservations and apprehensions of people from different walks of life and they would come under discussion in US parliament. On Pak-Indian relations, Clinton said her country wanted resumption of composite dialogue between the two countries. Fahmida Mirza told that Clinton had assured to fulfill all the pledges made regarding cooperation in trade and energy sectors, access of Pakistani products to the US markets and IDPs whereas the decision about remission of loans of Pakistan would be made by the US parliament.
