Electricity shortfall reaches 4,000 MW

Electricity shortfall in the country has reached 4,000 MW with closure of nine units of Terbela Dam.

 

According to sources, nine units of Tarbela Dam have been closed and only five units are producing electricity.

 

The power generation from Tarbela Dam has been decreased by 3,238MW due to closure of nine due to which overall power shortfall increased up to 4,000MW.

 

The sources informed that Tarbela Dam is only producing 240MW of electricity. It is said that 29,200 cusecs of water in entering Tarbela while 40,000 cusecs is discharging.
