Public holiday in Islamabad today

Public holiday has been declared in Islamabad today on the occasion of D-8 Summit.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has clarified that all educational institutions and government offices with the exception of some Ministries and Departments will remain closed today (Thursday) in Islamabad.
He said there will be no holiday for essential services organizations as well as Senate, National Assembly, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and offices of Chief Commissioner Islamabad and capital Development Authority.
Entry of irrelevant persons and motorcycles will be banned in the Red Zone from tonight. Residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been directed to keep NADRA Identity Cards with them.
The Minister said the decision has been taken due to security reasons and keeping in view the difficulties of the residents of Islamabad.
