Striking doctors' clinic sealed, services of Army doctors acquired
Balochistan government has acquired the services of 40 Army doctors.
The doctors have been staging protest against the abduction of their colleague Dr Saeed Ahmed Khan for more than a month now. They lament that their security was more important their post.
On Monday, doctors closed emergency services in all the government hospitals across the province after a clash with police.
Earlier, Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani had ordered to take stern action against the protesting doctors. He directed the chief secretary and health secretary to serve a notice of 24 hours to all the protesting doctors of the province after which an action should be taken against them. He also said that army doctors should be called in if the doctors do not agree to resume their duties.
Raisani further ordered to immediately appoint new doctors on the vacant seats through public service commission.
Patients are facing problems due closure of OPDs and emergency services in government hospitals.
On the other hand, the provincial government has also ordered to seal private clinics of striking doctors.
