Five militants held from Lahore: IG Punjab
Police claimed that five militants involved in jail employees killing were arrested on Wednesday.
Inspector General Punjab Habib ur Rehman revealed on Wednesday that Multan police has arrested five terrorist who were involved in killing jail employees and other crimes.
He was addressing a press conference along with CTD Additional IG Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera and CPO Multan Amir Zulfiqar.
Habib ur Rehman said that Multan police had an encounter with the Punjabi Taliban Qari Yaseen alias Ustad Aslam group and arrested five members. A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
The IGP further told that the accused admitted their involvement in several incidents including the Achra jail attack where they injured jail employees. They also took part in Babu Sabu check post attack, Green Town bank heist and suicide attack at DPO Ismail Khan’s office.
The culprits also revealed about killing policemen and Shiites in Dera Ismail Khan, Habib said.
The IG Punjab said that further investigations are underway.
The militants including Hafiz Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Imran Habibur Rehman, Imtiaz and Amir Muawia belong to different areas of Dera Ismail Khan while their centre is in Miranshah from where countrywide terrorism is planned.
