SC to issue order if Haqqani doesn't come back:CJP

Chief Justice has said that if Hussain Haqqani doesn�t come back, the court would issue an order.

 

While conducting hearing of Memo Case in Islamabad on Tuesday, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while passing his remarks said that attitude of Hussain Haqqani apparently evident that he would not like to come back to the country. 

 

“If he does not come back in accordance with judicial order, the court would be bound to issue an order and then Hussain Haqqani would have to come back under his personal security”, said Chief Justice of Pakistan.



Interior Secretary Khawaja Siddique appeared in the court and told the court that dangers confronted by Hussain Haqqani should be reviewed seriously. The court should avoid such impression that a man residing out of country is feeling terror and horror.

 

Asima Jahangir while giving her arguments said that Haqqani was scared of current law and order situation in the country.

 

At this, Chief Justice said that Mansoor Ijaz’s case was not being heard by the Supreme Court.


Asima Jahangir said that what progress of law order in Karachi is after the apex court issued an order in this regard.

 

Ultimately the court ordered Interior Secretary should be informed about security risk approximately two weeks ahead of next hearing and Asima Jahangir should move a written application with the Interior Secretary in this regard.


The hearing of memo case was put off for indefinite period.
