NA members express concern over Karachi violence

The National Assembly members have expressed serious concern over the federal and provincial governments for the rising incidents of target killing and worst law and order situation in Karachi.

 

The parliamentarians on Monday urged the federal and provincial governments to constitute effective policies and take solid steps to overcome the unrest in Karachi.

 

Maulana Atta Ullah Shahab regretted that the 11student of a seminary were brutally killed in Karachi last day, but the officials concerned of the federal and provincial governments have neither condemned the incidents nor took any action against the criminals.

 

Maulana Shahab was of the view that the Sindh government has completely failed to maintain law and order situation in the city, and demanded of the government to announce compensations to the heirs of the seminary students killed last day.

 

The MQM leader Waseem Akhtar observed on the occasion that the incidents of targeted killing have increased in the city, on the other hand Mohram ul Haram was near to start, while the terrorists were making conspires among different school of thoughts, to further abuse the situation of Karachi.

 

The Jamiat e Ulema Islam leader, Haji Fazal Karim on the point of order observed the Karachi situation has been under discussion in the parliament for the last three years, but the Sindh government did nothing for overcoming the situation and restore peace in the city. He stated the US has used Pakistan against Russia, due to which the militancy emerged in the country.

 

He demanded the constitution of a judicial commission under the High Court Chief Justice to probe the incidents and the culprits should be awarded strong punishment.
