Obama weighs Pakistan strategy in high-level meeting

A high-level meeting was held to brief US President Barrack Obama on Pakistans political situations in White House. According to sources, US President was given briefing on Pakistans political and diplomatic situation during a meeting of Afghan war council in Washington. White House officials revealed that Obama wants to strengthen ties with Pakistan and enhance cooperation in the war against Al-Qaeda. Obama lauded Pakistan governments and Armys efforts in the war against terrorism. The US President admitted that situation in Afghanistan was deteriorated in last few months. Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defence Secretary Robert Gates, top military brass, and US intelligence chiefs attended the meeting. Afghan war commander General Stanley McChrystals request to send more troops in Afghanistan was also reviewed in the meeting. General McChrystal warned that the war could be lost within a year without more soldiers.
