The ECP has delayed the decision of giving overseas Pakistanis their right to vote.
A high-level meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan headed by Justice (r) Fakharuddin G Ibrahim was held in Islamabad on Wednesday.The meeting approved the bill regarding mandatory voting of women.The draft of the bill would be forwarded to the parliament. According to the draft re-polling would be conducted in the constituency where females’ vote casting would be less than 10%.The ECP delayed the decision of giving right to vote to 4 million overseas Pakistanis.The overseas Pakistanis would have to travel to Pakistan to cast their votes.Meanwhile, the ECP registered five new political parties including PML-Hamkhyal.The Election Commission has forwarded the cases of 12 dual nationality holder MPs to the provincial election commissions.
