JI announces strike in Karachi today

The JI has announced to observe shutter-down and wheel-jam strike in Karachi today (Wednesday).

Jamaat-e-Islami will observe shutter-down and wheel-jam strike in Karachi today against the killing of former town nazim Pervez Mehmood, poor law and order situation in the country and increasing incidents of extortion in the city.Pervez Mehmood was shot dead in North Nazimabad on the night between Monday and Tuesday by unknown armed men’s firing.On the other hand, Police have arrested more than hundred of JI workers and put Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter Mohammad Hussain Mehnati under house arrest.JI spokesman said that more than 100 party workers had been picked up by the police from their houses in a bid to foil today’s strike.
