Police-post set ablaze in Karachi as protestors and police clash near US Consulate, several hurt.

A rally was a held Sunday in Karachi against the anti-Islam film produced in United States.The protestors clashed with police when they tried to march towards the US Consulate.Police resorted to teargas shelling and baton charge to stop the protestors but failed in its endeavor.The protestors hurled stones at police and several vehicles were damaged as a result.The police also used water canon to restrict the rally participants.Police negotiated with the protest leaders but failed to convince them to end the protest.Protest rallies were also held in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and other cities.Addressing the rally in Lahore Hafiz Saeed demanded hanging of the team that produced the film.He said relations with US should be severed as protest.The participants of the rally shouted slogans against United States.
