President Asif Ali Zardari has said that general elections would be held on time.

Talking to the media at the Governor House, President Asif Ali Zardari said the general elections would be held on time. The president maintained that he had transferred his powers to parliament on his own, adding that the PPP government would not abandon the people in their hour of need.He condemned the fire incidents in Lahore and Karachi and condoled with the bereaved families, saying that all-out assistance would be extended to the victims of fire and flood victims.Asif Ali Zardari said that new provinces would be created before the upcoming general election and the PPP would form the next government in the Punjab.President Zardari directed the party leadership to start preparing for the next general elections in the country and asked the workers to increase their contacts with the people.
