The ill-fated garment factory in Karachi has been sealed after completion of rescue operations.
At least 259 workers were burnt alive when the garment factory, situated at the Hub River Road, caught fire on Wednesday.Police have sealed the factory after getting clearance from the rescue teams who completed the rescue operation at the site after three days.Heavy contingent of police has been deployed outside the factory and entry in the factory has been banned.When contacted, the duty officer present at the spot informed that prior written permission from SSP Invetigation, West will be required to carry out any further rescue work or collection of evidence from the factory.Meanwhile, bodies of 178 victims were handed over to their heirs after verification for burial while the identity of 82 bodies is not yet known. The sources said that the DNA samples of 60 victims have so far been collected for identification.
