PPP, PML-N discuss Accountability Law

PPP leaders held talks with members of PML-N at Punjab House in Islamabad.

Meeting between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders took place in Islamabad on Thursday.PPP delegation included Federal Minister Khurshid Shah, Naveed Qamar while Khawaja Asif and Ishaq represented the PML-N.The PPP leaders presented before the PML (N) their proposed version of the Accountability Law.Later talking to the media persons‚ Minister for Religious Affairs said the government wants to evolve consensus on the proposed accountability bill. Todays meeting was part of taking all the political parties on board on the matter.Opposition leader in the Senate and PML (N) leader Ishaq Dar said that no other issue including the next caretaker set up and the commission on establishment of new provinces in Punjab came under discussion.He said that his party wants to have a fair and robust accountability law to eliminate the draconian law introduced by a dictator.
