General election: Election Commission to meet today

Election Commission will meet today to review preparation for the upcoming general election.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) former Justice Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim will chair the meeting. Heads of provincial/federal election commissions will also attend the meeting and will deliberate over the budget requirement for holding general election.Officials in ECP informed that the meeting will also review other options for the upcoming elections. It will be followed by a consultation meeting of all political parties, which will be summoned at the last week of current month, with the purpose to seek their consents over various steps proposed by ECP for general election.
