Due to less fuel supply, power generation has reduced further.
According to National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL), electricity demand touched the figure of 17,400mw during the last 24 hours whereas the power generation was recorded at 12,100mw. According to sources, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) was providing 16,000 ton fuel to the power companies against the demand of 39,000 ton.Due to increase in power deficit, urban areas are facing power cuts after every hours, however, 16 hours of electricity loadshedding is being carried out in rural areas.
