9 more fall prey to violence in Karachi

At least nine people were killed in incidents of violence in different parts of Karachi.

According to details, some dacoits riding on motorbikes injured a shopkeeper, Faisal, in a robbery attempt in Isa Nagry area. The residents nabbed a dacoit and handed him over to Rangers and set his motorbike on fire. The angry residents also staged a protest and blocked the road from Hassan Square to Liaquatabad. Police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the demonstrators.In another incident of violence, some unidentified persons opened fire in Delhi Colony and killed a man and wounded three others. A Rangers official was shot dead in firing incident near Stargate area.Some unidentified gunmen shot dead 40-year-old Ahsanullah in Gulshan Ma’amar area while Bacha Khan was gunned down in Pirabad.Police have also recovered dead body of a youth, Saleem, from Muhammad Shah Graveyard and body of an unidentified man from MPR colony.In yet another incident, an MQM activist Khalid Kashmiri was shot dead in firing incident ne Model Town Graveyard.Meanwhile, Mutahidda Qaumi Movement leader Waseem Aftab has said that government has failed to maintain law and order situation in Karachi.
