Action only against illegal pre-paid SIMs: says Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that all pre-paid SIMs are not going to be blocked.

Rather the government is taking action only against the people who get SIMs through bogus documents.While addressing a ceremony at Lahore Airport, Rehman Malik said that terrorists use mobile phones in order to hit their targets, adding that nobody has right of using illegal SIM for his or her vested interest.He said that tenure of new passports would be extended after September 15; it would be useable for ten years rather than five years.He made it clear a separate counter would be installed at airport for security and immigration. It would prove helpful to stop human trafficking.
