PM directs monitoring of flood situation

PM Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed to closely monitoring the flood situation across the country.

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed the Federal Flood Commission‚ Ministry of Water and Power and National Disaster Management Authority to closely monitor the situation across the country and keep him updated.He expressed his anguish and grief over the loss of lives due to flash floods caused by heavy rains in different parts of the country.The PM directed that rivers banks must be reinforced to avert any threat in case of overflows. He also asked the federal and provincial authorities to remain on high alert and enhance coordination as well as exchange regular information so that a rapid response can be given in case of any emergency.
