Lahore: Pillion-riding on Youm-e-Ali rally route banned

The district administration in Lahore has decided to place a ban on pillion riding within one kilometer range of Youm-e-Ali rally, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.The pillion riding ban has been enforced from 20th Ramzan (Aug 9) to 21st Ramzan (Aug 10) as security measures for the death anniversary of Hazrat Ali.However, during the pillion riding ban, women, the elderly, children and journalists would be exempted from the ban.The ban has been enforced over the recommendations of intelligence agencies.According to police authorities, a contingent of more than 3,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure strict security.On the other hand, police have arrested 25 suspects during search operation in various areas in cluding Rang Mahal, Dehli Gate and Mochi Gate.
