A high-level flood is likely to occur in Chenab as heavy rains inundate several cities of Punjab.
According to meteorological department, medium-level flood occurred in Chenab at Head Marala with the discharge of over 2,00,000 cusecs of water at Head Khanki.Flood forecasting division forecasted that Chenab was likely to attain a level of medium to high flood within 24 hours. The Jhelum river, too, was forecast to be in low to medium flood at Mangla.The flood has been affecting nearly several villages alongside the river, adding that most of the population had been evacuated from the riverbed in the wake rain-triggered floods.
