MV Albedo: Freed Pakistanis reach Karachi

Pakistani crew members of MV Albedo arrived in Karachi Thursday night.

The plane carrying the released persons landed at Quaid-e-Azam International Airport Karachi at 9:30 pm.The released MV Albedo crew members were taken to the Governor’s House where Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad, provincial ministers and family members of the freed Pakistanis received them.The MV Albedo, a Malaysian-flagged container ship which was hijacked by Somali pirates on November 26, 2010.The seven Pakistanis were released after talks with Somali pirates for one and a half year.The total number of the hostages was 22 including 7 Pakistanis, 7 Bangladeshis, Six Sri Lankans and one each from India and Iran.
