Action on judicial order: SC seeks report from NAB

Supreme Court has sought comprehensive report from NAB regarding implementation on judicial orders.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that billions of rupees had been embezzled during the era of Tawqueer Sadiq. If this amount had been given to IPPs, the crisis of loadshedding would have been easily removed, commented the Chief Justice of Pakistan.Three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of case against Chairman OGRA Tawqeer Sadiq.Justice Jawad S Khawaja while passing his remarks said that wealth of the nation is being distributed among thugs by unfair means. The institutions which were bound to stop from committing corruption, they themselves are seeking next dates for proceedings.He said that the court had announced verdict against Tauquir Sadiq but the NAB did not recover even a penny during eight months.Chief Justice remarked that if markup had been received from a bank, it would cross the limit of millions of rupees on this amount. Such big embezzlements would definitely wither the economy of the state, said Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.He said the some big dacoits are involved in this scam; the NAB chairman would have to take personal interest in the matter.
