IGP Punjab Haji Habib-ur-Rehman said Punjab police have launched crackdown against terrorists.
Talking to media in Dera Ghazi Khan Haji Habib-ur-Rehman said that nabbing terrorists was his top priority. He said that security in the province has been put on high alert to maintain law and order during holy month of Ramzan.The IGP said the proposal is under consideration to merge Border Military Police of DG Khan’s tribal area in Punjab Police. He distributed certificates among the police officials for their best performance.Later talking to newsmen at RPO Office Multan, Haji Habib-ur-Rehman said efforts were on for the release of Shahbaz Taseer but the citizens should cooperate with police to foil terrorism and kidnapping attempts.He said honest and efficient officers were an asset of the police department who were receiving performance certificates and cash prizes but the DPOs across the province should conduct open courts to end Thana culture and resolve the public issues on priority basis.
