Kashmir Martyrs Day is observed every year on July 13th to commemorate this day in 1931, when 21 Kashmiris made the supreme sacrifice of their valuable lives for the supreme cause of freedom of Kashmir from the clutches of despotic Dogra rulers.In Occupied Kashmir complete shutdown‚ processions and demonstrations will mark the day to reaffirm the peoples resolve to continue the mission of liberation martyrs‚ despite all odds.Call for the shutdown has been given by the Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq‚ veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani and other liberation leaders and organisations.People on the day will march for the Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar where the martyrs of 1931 are buried.
