Karachi: One killed, 20 hurt in SUPARKO bus blast

A man was killed while more than 20 were injured during a blast in the area of Mawach Goth.

According to sources, a remote control device had been installed with a bicycle near a bus in the said area on Wednesday.The bus was carrying employees of SUPARCO when the bomb exploded, killing one man on the spot.One person was killed and more than 20 people were injured who were shifted to Murshid Hospital, whereas six were taken to Civil Hospital with four of them critical.According to hospital sources, five people were in critical condition.Most of the injured were Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) employees.According to SSP Amir Farooqui, SUPARCO bus was the likely target of this attack.The bus was damaged in the attack, which makes us believe it was the primary target of this improvised explosive device (IED) attack, he said.Rangers, police, and SUPARCO officials also reached the spot.
