JUI-F to oppose Bill on dual nationality, contempt of court: Fazl

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said JUI-F will not support dual nationality and contempt of court bills.

Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Monday said that JUI-F would not support the government Bill on dual nationality and contempt of court.Talking to media, Maulana Fazl said that the PPP-led coalition government is tabling dual nationality and contempt of court Bill for the sake of few people to save them.JUI-F keeping in view the national interest of the country would oppose these Bills. He argued, there is possibility that by having dual nationality it may be possible that a person holding Indian nationality as well and becomes a Parliamentarian.He said that according to the constitution, no one can become member parliament by holding dual nationality.Fazl added that Difa-e-Pakistan Council did not contact with JUI-F regarding long march against restoration of NATO supplies.To a question on reopening of NATO supplies, the JUI-F Chief said, “We strongly condemned the decision for resuming of NATO supplies, and JUI-F would observe Day of Protest against restoration of NATO supplies on 13th July”.
