SC orders special courts judges appointment

The SC ordered to present the notification of special courts judges appointment on Tuesday.

A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary heard the case against the absence of judges in the special courts.Deputy Attorney General told the bench that judges for anti-corruption courts have not been appointed, however, a summary for the appointment has been sent.Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary remarked the court’s orders are not being implemented, and constitution and the law are not being respected.Many corrupt and criminal elements are acquitted because of the absence of judges, Chief Justice of Pakistan said, and directed the high-ups to investigate how many of the indicted persons got free because of delay in the appointment of judges.Justice Jawad S. Khwaja said such impression is being given as if the government is not interested in the cases about corruption and accountability.He warned if the government does not accept the court’s order, a contempt of court notice would be issued and then headlines would be made that a new confrontation has been opened.The court adjourned the hearing ordering the government to appoint the judges by Tuesday.
