Presidents dual offices: LHC seeks reply

The LHC has issued notices to Principal Secretary of Asif Ali Zardari for submitting reply.

The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard a case regarding holding of two offices of President Asif Ali Zardari.Counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the president was holding political activities in the President House despite court’s order.The court observed that defying the court orders, was tantamount to contempt of court. However, the court refused to issue notice to the president, saying that presidential office is respectable, therefore notice cannot be issued.The court issued notice to principal secretary of the president and sought reply within seven days.
