ISI political wing notification never issued: official

Notification regarding the political wing in ISI was not even presented in Supreme Court today.

During Asghar Khans case proceeding, chief justice inquired about the notification subjecting to the formation of political cell in Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on which attorney general said that no official has ever received any such notification, adding that how can authorities work without the notification.Spokesperson of ministry of defence stated that they have never received any copy or document regarding the political wing.Meanwhile, attorney general told the court that reply of Justice Ilyas and Shahid Malik regarding Mehran bank and Habib bank commission has been received.According to Justice Ilyas, the inquiry was not completed as tenure period of law secretary Saqib Nisar of that time was not extended. The statements of witnesses were then handed over to some other official of law division.Chief justice said the written statement of General Durrani was very significant.IB’s documents over rupees 270 million have been sealed.He further asked the attoney general if he had any record of the people who took money.The attorney general presented the list that was topped by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.Chief justice then asked that who ordered the distribution of money on which general Durrani blamed General Aslam Beig’s for giving orders in this regard.Chief justice said that notices cannot be served to the people mentioned in the list without evidences.
