Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malki has denied government role in Dr Arsalan case.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malki has said that maintenance of law and order is the sole responsibility of provincial administration, adding that government is not involved in Arslan and investigations would be conducted in transparent manners if these to be handed over to interior ministry.Talking to media at Karachi on Saturday Rehman Malik said that in Karachi there is polarization of various mafias including ethnic‚ drug and extortionists and volume of Karachi issue is larger.A large number of criminals have gathered in Karachi and all political forces shaoul play their due role against these Mafias adding that we should avoid such actions that could harm the country.Malik said that media should give information about the criminals and government would take action within 24 hours, adding that the strength of police and rangers would be increased in metropolis.He said during his visit he would discuss with the Chief Minister about how to eliminate these elements and purge the city from gangsters. He said targeted action has been taken by the Rangers and eight persons have been arrested.He said the problem could be addressed through political means and by enhancing force in the troubled areas.Criticizing Sharif brothers Malik said that the PML-N always adopted attitude against democracy, adding that Nawaz, Shahbaz should give the justification of Rs 32 billions money laundering.He said that Chaudhry Nisar should not indulge government in fight with Malik Riaz. He said that after the 18th constitutional amendment it is the responsibility of the provincial government to control the law and order situation, however I will be available every time.He said that government has directed IG Rangers to take stern action against target killers present in Karachi, adding that performance of police and Rangers is satisfactory.
