Court contempt petition against AG filed

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking court contempt notice to AGP Irfan Qadir.

The petitioner has stated that Attorney General of Pakistan Irfan Qadir ridiculed the apex court during the hearing of a case regarding the National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza’s ruling for not forwarding PM Gilani’s disqualification reference to the Election Commission. He said that the AG created hurdles in provision of justice and used derogatory words against the court.The petitioner requested the court to issue court contempt notice to Irfan Qadir.
