CNG association calls off strike

CNG association's strike has been postponed for three days.

All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has called off its strike after getting assurances that its grievances will be addressed.Subsequently, a call by petroleum dealers and owners of oil tankers to join the CNG strike on Monday was also withdrawn.Addressing a press conference, APCNGA Chairman Ghayas Paracha while making the announcement, warned the strike would be resumed in case no effective step was taken in three days.The purpose of the strike was to contain the spiraling rates of CNG, he added.Earlier, closure of CNG filling stations, though partially, continued for the seventh consecutive day, causing immense problems for commuters.SNGPL on Sunday also announced that weekly three day closure of CNG filling stations would not be observed from Monday in view of ongoing strike by APCNGA.
