Punjab Finance Ministers dual nationality challenged

PML-Q has filed a prerogative motion over confusion about dual nationality of Rana Asif Mahmood.

The resolution has been filed by PML-Q MPA Samina Khawar.Samina Khawar Hayat said that Punjab Finance minister Rana Asif enjoys nationality of Canada along with that of Pakistan. He was elected from a seat allocated for minority; though he is not non-Muslim.The resolution further says that Rana Asif has violated the Article 51-6C of the Constitution which makes it clear the minority seats are only for non-Muslims Pakistanis.The resolution further demanded that the matter should not only be probed into but stern action should be taken against Punjab Home Minister in accordance with the law and the constitution.On the other hand, PTI leader Inamullah Niazi says that Rana Asif Mahmood not only enjoys dual nationality but also has changed his religion; so he should be stopped from presenting budget.He expressed these ideas while addressing a press conference in at Lahore Press Club.
