President promises ownership rights to tenants

President Asif Ali Zardari said that tenants would be given rights of ownership in two phases.

President Asif Ali Zardari is on a one-day visit to Okara.During his visit, President Zardari inaugurated a school in Okara. He also distributed the keys of tractors among farmers.President is addressing different gatherings at residence of federal minister Manzoor Watto. Banners and posters of President and Pakistan People’s Party were being placed in the city to welcome him.Slamming Sharif brother’s initiatives, President Zardari said PPP will get back Punjab in next elections.Referring to the 18th amendment, he said he had the power to dissolve parliament but he still chose to strengthen it. He said he is unaware of the powers PML-N is referring nowadays.President Zardari said that he is wholeheartedly aware of the agonies and sufferings of soldiers in Siachen; but if one-sided step is taken, we would have to be accountable for the strategy of last 10 years.He said that he believes in new faces and forces in politics, adding that he is dire need of committed friends in political journey.While using sarcastic words against Punjab CM, he said that Shahbaz Sharif is running more than 17 ministries while the people are bound to face tremendous problems.Meanwhile, security has also been beefed up in the city and heavy contingents of police have been deployed.President Zardari had earlier visited Lahore and Multan in start of this month.
