President vows free, fair elections

President Asif Ali Zardari has pledged to conduct free and fair elections.

While address a public gathering at Ghari Khuda Bux on 33rd death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, President Asif Ali Zardari said that we gathered here to commemorate martyrs’ achievements. He said that current political freedom is due to Z A Bhutto’s vision, adding that next elections would be free and fair.He also criticized the judiciary, saying that it takes years to take up Bhutto reference case but it issued its verdict regarding rental power projects within three months because the RPPs were providing electricity to the poor.He stated that Z A Bhutto’s murder was oppression on history and hoped that the judiciary would remove the stigma on its face.The president vowed to eradicate poverty, hunger and unemployment from the country. He said that the PPP-led government would solve all the issues with the power of democracy.Earlier, President Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Pm Gilani and other political leaders visited Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s mausoleum and offered Fateha.They also visited the mausoleum of Benazir Bhutto, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha.
