Plot to attack Parliament foiled: Rehman Malik

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that a plan to attack the parliament house was foiled.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Rehman Malik said security agencies of the country foiled an attempt to attack the Parliament House during the President Zardari’s address.I commend the Islamabad police, they have foiled a plot to attack the parliament during presidents address to the joint session, Rehman Malik told reporters.Police have arrested a suspect and an official of the finance ministry involved in the plot.Responding a question regarding Karachi, the interior minister said that a conspiracy was hatched to sabotage law and order in Karachi and a third force was involved in it.Expressing concern over the situation in Karachi‚ the interior minister said that all the parties should work in unison for restoration of normalcy to the provincial metropolis.He said that improvement of Quetta situation is also necessary to maintain law and order.
