Six militants killed in last 24 hours: ISPR

The security forces on Friday continued search and clearance operations in Swat in collaboration local Lashkars and people of the area, Malakand and Lakki during last 24 hours. According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted search operation at Khog Bacha area of Swat and apprehended Ibn-e-Aqil (younger brother of Ibn-e-Amin). A number of local militants commanders decided to voluntarily surrender and denounce terrorism. As a sequel, two local militants commanders voluntarily surrendered at Shalpalam and three militants voluntarily surrendered before security forces at village Jheel near BB Ziarat. The notables of Swat villages Alamganj, Chinkulai, Janu and Bandai in Khawazakhela have expressed their commitment to support security forces and resolve not to allow any terrorist in their respective areas. Security forces conducted search operation at Charbagh area of Swat and Allahabad and killed six militants and also recovered cache of arms and ammunition alongwith material for preparation of IEDs. Security forces alongwith 30 persons of Sultanwas Lashkar conducted area clearance operation from Pir Baba to Dukhada in Buner. The security forces continued the relief activities, as 234,635 cash cards have been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand.
