ISLAMABAD (APP) - Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Syed Mustafa Kamal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to completely eradicate polio, saying that coordinated vaccination campaigns and improved campaign quality would soon make the country polio-free.
The minister expressed these views during a meeting with Dr Chris Elias, Chairman of the Polio Oversight Board, in Geneva, where both sides held detailed discussions on polio eradication efforts and ongoing cooperation in Pakistan’s health sector, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.
Mustafa Kamal said that health sector reforms were underway under the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He also appreciated the support of the international partners for polio eradication initiatives in Pakistan.

Chris Elias appreciated the recent progress in Pakistan’s health sector and praised the integrated strategy being implemented under the leadership of Mustafa Kamal.
He assured continued support for vaccine availability and polio eradication efforts in Pakistan. Dr Elias is also expected to visit Pakistan in July this year.
