LAHORE (Dunya News) – A province-wide anti-polio campaign is set to begin across Punjab, including Lahore, from Monday (today) , with authorities finalising all necessary preparations.

According to sources, more than 20,000 polio supervisors have been trained, while over 100,000 frontline workers have also completed their training ahead of the campaign.

Over 50,000 workers have taken part in online assessments, and the training of polio teams was completed by April 9. Officials said a comprehensive strategy has been finalised to ensure that every child is reached during the campaign.

Transit points have been established across Punjab to vaccinate children on the move, including those travelling between provinces. Polio teams have also been deployed at inter-provincial checkpoints, as well as at Lahore and Islamabad airports.

Key transit vaccination points have been set up in Attock, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Special arrangements have also been made at religious gatherings to ensure wider coverage.

Additionally, transit points have been established for one month at shrines in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, while dedicated teams will remain present during events such as the annual Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a polio-free Punjab through sustained vaccination efforts.
