QUETTA (Dunya News) – A polio case has been reported in the City, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.

This is the second polio case in Quetta, 13th in Balochistan and 18th in Pakistan of this current year.

According to the National EOC Polio Laboratory, the polio virus has been confirmed in a two-year-old child.

National EOC Prime Minister's Focal Person for Polio Prevention Ayesha Raza Farooq expressed deep concern over the polio case.

Disruption in polio campaigns in some areas of Balochistan has allowed the spread of the virus, she said, stressing the need to step up efforts to prevent the spread of polio virus.

She said the government was taking all possible measures to protect children from infectious diseases like polio.

Ayesha Raza Farooq has appealed to parents to ensure vaccination for their children up to 5 years of age.
