CM approves 250-bed cardiac hospital in Lahore
The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will be second biggest institute for cardiac patients after PIC
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has approved a 250-bed hospital - Jinnah Institute of Cardiology - for heart patients in Lahore.
The decision has been taken owing to the load of heart patients in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). The Punjab government has approved the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology in place of Jinnah Hospital's Emergency and Trauma Centre project. The latter project will be transferred to the Jinnah Hospital.
The CM visited the project site and directed the officials concerned to complete the foundation work till mid of the next month. Ministers Dr Javed Akram and Aamir Mir and officials of several departments were present.
Briefing the CM, the secretary construction and communications said the number of beds in the new project would be 250 and its building would have seven floors. The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology would be the second biggest institute for cardiac patients after the PIC.
