An online search reveals that the photograph was captured in October 2018 by AFP photographer
(Reuters) - A photograph that shows migrants walking across a bridge in a caravan heading toward the U.S. was captured in southern Mexico in October 2018. The photograph does not show people along the U.S.-Mexico border in May 2023, despite claims shared online.
The image was shared widely on social media as U.S. authorities are readying to lift COVID-19 restrictions this month that prevented many migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border from seeking asylum since 2020 (here).
One tweet with over half a million views reads, “These invaders will be entering our country this week. We no longer have a nation. Prepare accordingly” (here).

Per AFP, the image shows an aerial view of Honduran migrants in southern Mexico heading in a caravan toward the U.S.
