Summary Deol said that Pakistani soldiers expressed affection towards him during Kartarpur visit
(Dunya News) - Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has recalled receiving a warm welcome during his visit to the Kartarpur Corridor in Pakistan, saying he experienced “a lot of love” from people there.
Speaking during an interview to promote his latest film, which was released in India and several other countries on Friday, Deol discussed his connection with Pakistan and his visit to Kartarpur.
Asked whether he had ever visited Pakistan, the actor said he had never travelled to the country but had visited Kartarpur when the corridor was opened.
Deol said he was included in a delegation visiting Kartarpur because the site was located in his parliamentary constituency at the time.
Recalling the visit, he said he received a warm response in Pakistan. He also recalled Pakistani soldiers expressing affection towards him and asking him not to work in films that portrayed Pakistan negatively.
According to Deol, he responded that he was only playing a character in such films.
The actor also said people naturally loved their own countries and argued that innocent civilians should not be targeted, stressing that those involved in wrongdoing should instead be dealt with.
