Saba Hameed shared that she slapped Hiba Bukhari for real in a drama scene on the director’s insistence, later apologizing and calling it an unpleasant but character-driven act.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Senior Pakistani actress Saba Hameed has revealed the real story behind slapping actress Hiba Bukhari during a drama scene.
Saba Hameed has been associated with the showbiz industry for nearly four decades and is widely recognized for her powerful performances in numerous successful dramas.
Her notable projects include Family Front, Mere Humsafar, Thakan, Lashkara, Pyarey Afzal, Ghisi Piti Mohabbat, Barat Series, Sun Mere Dil, Dil Lagi, Noor Jahan and Laal Ishq.
She was also praised for her outstanding performance in the drama Manto Nahi Hoon Main, and is currently appearing in a private TV channel’s drama serial Ishq.
Recently, the actress appeared on a private channel’s comedy show where she openly spoke about the incident of slapping Hiba Bukhari in a scene from the drama Fitoor.
Saba Hameed shared that she usually does not slap co-actors for real in dramas as she is skilled at “cheating” the shot to make it look realistic.

However, she said that if a director insists on authenticity, she has no choice but to comply.
She explained that in that particular scene, the director wanted a real slap for the sake of realism. “I slapped her and later apologized because it was quite hard. When you are asked to do it for real, you cannot cheat the shot,” she said.
Saba Hameed further added that such moments are never pleasant for any actor, as ultimately everything is done in the name of portraying a character convincingly.
