Sara Chaudhry reveals dark reality of showbiz

(Web Desk)- Former Pakistani actress Sara Chaudhry, who stepped away from acting for religious reasons, has opened up about the unsettling experiences that she faced during her earliest days in the entertainment world.

Speaking on a recent podcast, she shared that both she and her mother were confronted with multiple indecent proposals soon after she entered showbiz.

Sara explained that harassment is not limited to the entertainment industry, but the spotlight on actors often exaggerates the perception that people in showbiz are morally loose. “This stereotype leads many newcomers, especially young women, toward uncomfortable and inappropriate situations,” she said.

She also revealed that despite being accompanied by her mother throughout her initial projects, the first few months were emotionally draining.

Sara recalled that certain individuals within the industry made propositions that left her mother deeply disturbed. “The comments were so upsetting that my mother once broke down and urged me to leave acting altogether, return to my studies, and avoid the entertainment field”.

Without repeating the exact offensive remarks, Sara mentioned that insiders had told her mother that success required compromising on values, hinting that she must do certain things, if she wished to build a lasting career.

Sara emphasized that she maintained strict personal boundaries and ensured she never crossed lines that went against her principles. Reflecting on those early struggles, she said that despite the challenges, she always tried to remain grounded and uphold the moral standards she believed in.
