(Web Desk) - Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has pledged to grant tax concessions to the entertainment sector in a meeting with a delegation of film producers and Cinema Association led by Waris Baig.

The delegation was comprised of Zulfiqar Ahmed, Chairman of the Pakistan Film Producers Association, producer and director Shehzad Rafiq, Safdar Malik, General Manager of Q Cinemas Rabia Khan, General Manager of Cinepax Cinemas Azhar Joya, General Manager of Universal Cinemas Ghobash Ahmed, and Nadeem Mandviwala.

Shujaur Rehman stressed the importance of entertainment sector and encouraged filmmakers to revive traditional Punjabi cinema.

He also highlighted the need for provinces to reduce dependency on federal funds, urging industrialists to pay their taxes.

Regarding infrastructure, he mentioned ongoing construction in the Nawaz Sharif IT City and plans to reduce electricity and gas bills in the upcoming budget.

The film industry representatives emphasised the necessity of government support for its revival, proposing various initiatives, which the minister assured he would consider.
