She shares her views on marriage
(Web Desk) – Household name actor Sajal Aly recently voiced her thoughts on the societal pressure that often regards marriage as the ultimate goal for girls, irrespective of their academic or professional accomplishments.
In an interview with a digital magazine, Aly came hard on society for perpetuating this idea.
Aly emphasised that marriage can be beautiful with a supportive partner, countering the intimidating portrayal often given to girls.
"Marriage holds a special significance, and with a supportive partner, it can be far more enriching than society tends to portray," remarked the 'Kuch Ankahi' star.
Expanding on her thoughts, she noted, "There's nothing wrong with choosing marriage, especially when you find a supportive partner with whom you can navigate life's journey together."
But life shouldn’t be just about marriage. It can be an important part of life if you have the right support, but it shouldn’t be the endgame.”
Aly also stressed the importance of education for girls, explaining that it is the basis of independence and a lifelong process.
“Education should empower women to seek independence without losing their sense of self,” she said.
It is noteworthy that Sajal Aly married co-actor Ahad Raza Mir in March 2020. The couple separated the following year and were legally divorced in March 2022.
On the professional front, Aly was last seen in the hit drama serial ‘Kuch Ankahi,’ co-starring Shehryar Munawar and Bilal Abbas Khan.
